Mangalore, Apr 3: John Lancy Monteiro, who did his research in understanding faith in multi-religious context like India, obtained his doctorate on his thesis “Christian Revelation and Non-Christian Religions in Aloysius Pieris, the Catholic Magisterium and Karl Rahner: Hospitality within Catholic Universality and Rationality” presented at the prestigious Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome recently. He did his research under the guidance of renowned scholar Dr Gerald Whelan SJ.
Dr Monteiro is a Jesuit priest, belonging to Kohima (Nagaland) Jesuit region. He hails from Our Lady of Nativity Parish, Banakal (Chickmagalore Diocese). He is the son of Jerome and Alice Monteiro, brother of Janet, Maxim, Wilson and Canute.
He is an alumnus of Milagres Junior College and St Aloysius College, Mangalore.
