Udupi, Nov 3: In a special operation conducted on Tuesday, the Akka Pade team, in coordination with the CRP and ECO departments, rescued around 30 children from a fish factory in Brahmavar taluk.

During the inspection, officials found that around 30 children of workers employed at the factory were not receiving any formal education and were not attending school. The children were reportedly spending their time in and around the factory premises.

The rescued children, aged between six and 14 years, were subsequently produced before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC).

Following the proceedings, arrangements were initiated to admit seven girls to the girls’ children’s home and 23 boys to the boys’ children’s home to ensure their care, protection and rehabilitation.
