He pointed out that with the opening of 30 district offices (previously only in 7 districts), participation of middlemen in availing benefits will be curbed, thereby, directly availing the benefits to the beneficiaries. "Ever since the BJP-led state government came to power, Rs 2.10 crore is being recovered every month, while it was only Rs 30 lac previously," he added.
From the Christian Development Board and Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation, project worth Rs 1883.38 lac have been implemented to benefit 10,654 beneficiaries in 3 years and 10 months, he said.
To a query on the report submitted to the government by Anwar Manippady that Wakf properties worth about Rs 2 lakh crore have been encroached upon or sold illegally, Aboobakkar said that the government has been trying constantly to ensure that Wakf properties are not misused in Dakshina Kannada district.
