Mangalore: A I Express - Dubai Flight Rescheduled, Kuwait Cancelled

Daijiworld Media Network- Mangalore

Mangalore, May 12: As Air India pilot strike continues to affect the passengers throughout the nation, both international and domestic passengers suffer most due to the revised schedule and cancellations.

According to official sources from Air India, two international flights from Mangalore have been affected on Saturday, May 12. The flight scheduled to fly at 10.00 pm is now rescheduled to 7.00 am Sunday May 13. The passengers are requested to report at airport by 5.00 am.

But the flight to Kuwait which is scheduled at 5.45 pm on Sunday May 13 has been cancelled due to pilot strike.

"Unfortunately we cannot rescheduled this flight, our next flights are also full, hence we will refund the full fare to the passengers" says the Air India source.

Gulf-bound passengers continue to face the trouble ever since pilots announced the strike earlier this week.

"The service offered by Air India staff in Mangalore is far better than Dubai offices. We have been informed well in advance, and those who have come from far have been given hotel accommodation, and those who wanted to go back to their homes have been given taxi fairs. In this case, we cannot blame Air India staff, but it is all because of pilots" says a passenger who arrived in Dubai on Saturday early morning with a rescheduled flight.

"I face maximum problems from Air India offices in Dubai who are totally irresponsible, negligent and do not teat us like guest", says the same passenger whose flight from Dubai to Mangalore was also delayed a couple of days back.

When Daijiworld contacted Air India office in Mangalore, an official told that they are trying their best to convey the message to passengers, but many passengers have not entered their contact numbers correctly. Many people do not respond to the phone calls. They hoped that they can reach such passengers through “Daijiworld".

For further details one can contact Mangalore city booking office on 2450811 or 2451046/47 (0930 to 1700hrs.

Its time to boycott Air India. No passengers should travel by this airline in future. Enough is enough. These greedy Pilots are playing with the future of common people. Already they have ruined fortune of several workers who could not join becasue of strike and due to expiry of visa, not able to take employment. Is this a reason for going for strike. Government of India should not take delivery of DreamLiners which has caused nightmare to several passsengers. It is high time to close down this airline or sell it to private players.

    It won't affect government.
After all Gulf route itself is Non-profitable sector for Air-India Express - due to middle east crises now and then. What ever profit made by Air India from last many years - is equal to transport back freely for war affected peoples from the region.

Why blame the entire organisation (Air India)for the mischief committed by a few unscrupulous, irresponsible pilots? I hear the ground staff of the airline at least in India is very co-operative and doing a commendabel job.

Passengers travelling by Air India Express can chose to fly by any other domestic flights to other destinations from where they can travel by better Airlines. It takes little bit more time and money, but journey is for sure. Thousands of people with their family along with small kids travelled and enjoyed once a year trip for years. Choose between pure luck with cheaper flights or little bit more trouble and money for guaranteed journey. Choice is yours and if you suffer due to AI Express comments with grinding your teeth on Daijiworld also yours

Air India staff Co-Operation is very good even in kuwait..If contacted over the phone theyn gave us right information. These pilots who are agitating for higher grades n 1st class free tickets for them n for their familys dont have any respect for passengers travelling on their airline, which gives them bread n butter. Agitating pilots should be arrested and put behind the bars, so that they may understand problems of passenger much better.. Govt should take strict action n must sack all of them. Some political party is behind the Pilots want to destabilize govt with such issues.

Take some EXTRE TROUBLE and discontinue use of AirIndia Express
Let aircraft operate with only crew
Use alternate such as bangalore / bombay or calicut .Airindia will be forced to stop operting and some other airline will get landing rite ( All the best to Fly dubai/air arabia) Emirates cannot land in mangalore because of bigger aircrafts

Air India and all its partners should be disolved by the government. Been a loss making machine and will continue to do so. Why do tax payers have to pay for such an airline that has no future.
Invest with Kingfisher that has class and can make the country proud.
Air India is a shame not the Maharja as we know from before because of corruption.

Fully agree with Denis Lobo. Certainly we would have been happier without Air India Express, rather than cribbing and cribbing endlessy with the pathetic service it is offering. Starting from the fares, the seats, the service, the luggage issues, the food and finally the customs harassment. We mangaloreans can not be proud of Air India express, we were more happier flying via Bombay

It is not Air India(AI), But it is nothing but Bore India. Enough is Enough. These so called Drivers(Pilots)of the Air India are Shameless, Ruthless Anti-Nationals,
holding their Motherland at ransome, without any amount of dignity to their Profession. Whatever may be their demand, there is dignified way of doing it. At the same time the Management of Air-India is also responsible for this, for their Corporate Arrogancy in handling it smoothly. End of the day because of the Dirty & Illegitimate Tussle between Management(Damagers)& Air-India(Bore India) the poor common man/Passenger is suffering. You Shameless AirLines Authorities of India/World One Thing You Should Understand that the "PASSENGERS" are the SOLE AUTHORITY, becasue of them the Industry is earning its Livelihood or Bread&Butter. If No
Passengers, the Airline Industry has to close down their shop & Start Begging for their ALMS., this fact may be a Bitter Pill Of Truth, which the AirLines Industry may find it Difficult to Swallow.
The so Called Dirty, Shameless Drivers should know the PLAIN TRUTH, that so far AIR INDIA EXPRESS, could not settle the Legitimate Claims of the Kith&Kins of the Crash Victims Of Mangalore Air Crash Dt.22nd May 2010, even after almost 2(Two)Years, the Brutal Mass Murder Committed by Drunken Driver (Pilot)of the so called Air-India Express(Killer Airlines). So far other than Crocodile Tears, neither Air-India,
Ministers(Sinisters)of Civil Aviation Authority Nor So Called Insurance Companies could not settle the LEGITIMATE CLAIMS of the Deceased As Per The Montreal/Warsaw Pact. It is difficult to keep quiet by looking at the suffering of the Common People and my Conscious do not permit to do so. But still with utmost control of my Body & Soul, I as a Civilised Indian, could express my legitimate & legal opinion to create an awareness to all my fellow Civlised and Respected Indians.UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL.LONGLIVE INDIA& INDIANS.Hope Daijiworld will Publish my message

In the year 2003, Rajesh Sequeira, engineer by profession, took the lead in the UAE and gathered some like-minded Mangaloreans with the support of NRI entrepreneurs to rejuvenate the campaign. There could not have been a more competent person to spearhead this mission than Rajesh Sequeira because he had earlier worked for Jet Airways at Mangalore airport for a few years and knows the passenger movement and facilities in and out. IT was his effort that we could see the first International Flight operating from Mangalore airport in the year 2006.

THOUSANDS OF PASSENGERS TRAVELLED SINCE THEN BUT YOU MAY NOT GET A SINGLE ONE SATISFIED WITH THE SERVICE OF AIR INDIA EXPRESS.

159 of our brothers and sisters lost their life on 22nd may , 2 years back because of the negligence of Air India pilots.

DO WE NEED AIR INDIA EXPRESS FOR OUR TRAVEL OR DO WE NEED ANY BETTER FLIGHT OPERATORS ?

Desperately waiting for Mangalore Airport to be tagged "international" which seems to be a distant dream. This is mainly due to the lethargic attitude of the powerful politicians from our region who are busy attending "Inauguration functions" and deliver speeches. They need to learn a lesson from our neighbour state Kerala. Once other airlines are allowed to fly in the mangalore sector, it is difficult to imagine the fate of Air India express. They may have to fly only with the Pilot, Air hostesses and the cabin crew. Hope this day is not far off !!!
