Mangalore: Holy Places are Right Place for Peace of Mind- DVS

Mangalore, May 13: “Holy places are the right place for peace of mind in today’s world” said chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda during the first anniversary of Prathista Mahotsava and Samuhika Chandikayaga at the Guruvana Sri Durga Kshetra here on Saturday, May 12.

Chief minister Gowda expressed his gratitude for being part of this devotional program and recalled his visit last year for the inauguration of the temple on the occasion.

He also said that the government has given funds of Rs 50 crores for the development of churches and mosques which  has helped in building a friendly and harmonious relationship between different religions across the state. He finally sought the blessings from goddess Durga.

Karnataka chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp along with other dignitaries namely Vidyaprasanna Sripanangal, Subrahmanya, Narendra Yogishwareshwara Swamiji, Guru Parashakthi Mutt, Marakada, J Krishna Palemar, MLA Yogesh Bhat, state legislative deputy speaker, P Jayaram Bhat, M D Karnataka Bank, Nagendra, corporator, Nalin Kumar Kateel, Ramesh president, MUDA and K C Naik, president, Gopalkrishna Temple, Shaktinagara.

Yogeesh Kumar Jeppu welcomed the gathering. A large number of devotees were present on the occasion.

    Hats off DVS. You are a gentleman. Not like other power hungry leaders who try to bribe God with tax payers money and falsely swear on holy places. This shows your educational back ground. God bless you.
