Udupi, May 14:  "The aspirant cricketers should concentrate on good fielding", said HS Ballal, Pro Chancellor of Manipal University, during his address to the gathering of aspirant cricketers, here in the cricket camp organized jointly by the Karnataka State Cricket Federation and Royal Challengers, Bangalore, at the Manipal University ground on May 13.

With the introduction of new format in cricket, more than the other aspects, fielding has become very important. The stress is given to stop the runs by better fielding, he added.

In olden days, good cricketers like Dilip Sardesai, Munkad and some others failed to be their best on field. Whereas in the present situation, it is not possible to get place in a Cricketing team without being a good athlete in the field, he further said.

HS Ballal also distributed hats to all the 50 youngsters who are taking part in the camp.

The Karnataka Indian Team members Janardhan and Nithin Sarang, who recently beat Zimbabwe, will be training the youngsters in the camp.

Srikanth Rai, director of Mangalore unit, Karnataka State Cricket, selection committee president Aravind Venugopal, Udupi district coordinator Balakrishna Parkal, PAdmaraj Hegde and Sridhar among others were present on this occasion.
