Most Painful Day in My Political Life : Yeddyurappa
Bangalore, May 16 : A crestfallen former Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa whose residences were raided by a joint team of Central Bureau of Investigation and I-T department sleuths on Wednesday, told the media in Bengalore that the investigation agency is free to take all documents as he will cooperate with the probe.
"This is the most painful day in my political life," Yeddyurappa added.
The CBI conducted raids at Bengaluru, Mysore, Bellary and Shimoga after it filed an FIR against Yeddyurappa, his two sons and his son-in-law based on a Supreme Court directive.
The senior BJP leader, who addressed the media outside his residence after the raids, said that he has the highest regard for the CBI and would cooperate with the agency. He also said that he is hopeful that the truth would come out. "I am confident that my family and I would come out clean," he said.
Meanwhile, the CBI in a statement in New Delhi said that it would continue with its investigation in the illegal mining case. The CBI said it has seized important documents and collected other details.
Yeddyurappa who has been apprehending arrest will have to wait for the order of the special CBI court which will take up his anticipatory bail plea on Thursday.

He stopped short of quitting the party on Monday, along with a large group of supporters, which could have cost the BJP its first government in the South. But Yeddyurappa is also feeling the heat. The CBI is raiding him homes, and those of his relatives, today.
- The politician has asked for anticipatory bail after the CBI registered an FIR against him in a case of illegal mining yesterday.
- A nine-member team of investigators will determine whether Yeddyurappa favoured mining companies who donated large sums of money to a chartiable trust run by his family.
- Raids were conducted today at Yeddyurappa's homes in Bangalore and Shimoga, about 270 kms from the state capital.
- The homes of his sons, B Y Raghavendraa and B Y Vijayendra were also raided. The former is a BJP MP.
- On Friday, the Supreme Court ordered the CBI to investigate Yeddyurappa's relationship with the firms who donated generously to his family's trust when he was chief minister.
- Yeddyurappa was forced to resign from that post last year after the state's ombudsman or Lokayukta indicted him in a report on illegal mining.
- Yeddyurappa was till recently demanding that he be brought back as chief minister. He has now changed his stand to ask that the head of the government be a member of his Lingayat community, a powerful vote bank.
- The BJP has so far refused to consider firing Sadananada Gowda as chief minster He was hand-picked by Yeddyurappa as his successor, but their relationship has been strained recently, largely because of Yeddyurappra's attempts to displace his replacement.
- Nine ministers in Gowda's government and many MLAs have submitted their resignations to Yeddyurappa as a show of support. They say they will hand those in formally as soon as he signals that's what he wants.
- Yeddyurappa is also facing charges of illegally denotifying land to benefit his family -he allegedly allowed land that was acquired for public projects to be sold to companies linked to his children at below-market rates
Bangalore: CBI Raids Yeddyurappa’s Offices, Homes—Arrest Imminent?

Bangalore, May 16: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided former chief minister (CM) Yeddyurappa’s residences at Race Course Road, Dollars Colony, and in his hometown Shimoga on the morning of Wednesday May 16.
His offices in Bangalore and Shimoga are also being raided by the CBI.
Sources also confirmed that raids have been conducted on the residences of his two sons, and son-in-law.
According to the sources available to Daijiworld, officials from New Delhi and Hyderabad had landed in Bangalore late night on Tuesday May 15 and sketched the raids.
When the reports last reached Daijiworld, four officers had completed the raid at Yeddyurappa's Dollars Colony residence and returned with some important documents.
Yeddyurappa's close aide MLA Krishnaya Shetty, who was reportedly handling some of his businesses, has also had his residence in Kolar raided by the CBI.
In Bellary, Jindal offices have been raided by the CBI. According to sources, Yeddyurappa could be arrested by Wednesday evening, once raid formalities are completed at his offices and homes.
CBI officials have instructed Karnataka police not to interfere in the raids and kept Yeddyurappa isolated without any outside communication. His mobile has been confiscated and leaders have been barred from meeting him at his residence.
Meanwhile, Yeddyurappa's close aide Shobha Karandlaje camped in New Delhi to meet BJP and Congress top leaders to avoid her mentor’s arrest.
