Udupi, May 30: "People's tastes change constantly depending on the latest trends. T20 format of cricket that began a few years ago has become popular in a short period of time," said former Indian wicket keeper Syed Kirmani during his visit to a cricket training camp that held at Nehru Maidan, Palligudde - Katpady near here on Wednesday May 30.

Addressing the media he said, "The media report on match fixing has not been proved yet. If it is proved, the future of T20 cricket will be in jeopardy."

"One should give more priority to studies than sports, and at the same time even rank holders should develop the spirit of playing for the nation and being good at it. The bowler aims to get the batsman out, while the batsman has to play with confidence that he would face the ball and be determined not to get out. This kind of attitude will take the cricketer to greater heights," advised Kirmani.

Kirmani inaugurated the cricket tournament for the age group of 12 to 14 years, organized by KRS Cricket Academy, at Katpady, here.

The former state minister Vasant V Salian, Suhas Hegde, ZP president Katpady Shankar Poojary, Vasu Sherigar, Dr Ganesh Kamat, Dinesh Karkera, KRS Cricket Academy president Uday Kumar were present.
