Kasargod, Aug 28:  Kasargod police have made tremendous progress in the counterfeit notes case, as they have registered a fourth important arrest on Tuesday, August 28.

After the massive hunt Chetan Kumar (21), one of the main accused in the case was arrested in Udupi by the Kasargod police.  Chetan is the driver of Dubai based mastermind Moideen Haji.

It is learnt that with clear information from Usman, who was arrested earlier, police have reached out to Chetan.

Police sources said that the search operation is on to trace another accused Raju, whose name emerged after the arrest of Chetan.

As per police information received, Raju is absconding in Uttar Pradesh.

The investigation is now extended to Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. Police have sought help from these two states, said police head.

Police after interrogating Chetan assessed that he possessed the huge amount of counterfeit currency brought from Dubai and there are chances of transferring the case to crime branch said police sources.

It can be recalled that, Kanhangad-Kaidakkad resident Abdul Jabbar, Bantwal resident Usman, Abdul Naasar from Anangur-pachakad have been already arrested.

H Manjunath, Kanhangad ASP, KV Venugopal, circle inspector, CK Sunil Kumar, Babu Peringoth and other inspectors of the district were part of the investigation.

How Karnataka Police can trace, catch
and investigate fake currency or any other illegal matter?
Almost all politicians are involved in these things. I won't be surprised if this consignment of fake currency was meant for the BJP Govt. for use in the next election!!!
The way such a huge amount went through the customs without detection!! wow - please guess.
Why not the Centre take up the matter and take to task the Customs officials attended the passengers that day. The truth will be out from them - how they were threatened by the BJP Govt. to give safe passage to that consignment.
Our BJP Govt. would not have solved this case for years, even when erroneously culprit was caught, he would be released immediately.
