Anzhi Release Ivanov

Moscow, Sep 8 (IANS/RIA Novosti): Russian football club Anzhi Makhachkala have released winger Alexei Ivanov.

The Dagestan-based club tore up the 31-year-old midfielder's contract on mutual consent, said an official website statement.

Ivanov joined from now-defunct Moscow club Saturn Ramenskoye in February 2011, just after Anzhi were bought by billionaire Suleiman Kerimov.

He made just 24 league appearances since, scoring once.
