Mumbai, Sep 27: Actress Kashmera Shah has extended her support to Sunita Ahuja amid reports of marital discord and divorce proceedings involving actor Govinda.

Kashmera's comments came a day after actress Komal Rani Swarnkar, who has been linked to Govinda, described Sunita as a “cunning woman” and claimed that Govinda and Sunita were already facing marital problems before she entered the picture.

Questioning how Komal came to know intimate details about her co-star's personal life, Kashmera shared a post on her official Instagram account.

“Since the beginning of my career, 30 years and 50 films in total, not one co-star of mine knew anything about my personal life or feelings. The only person I told everything to was the person I married @krushna30. I have never heard of such a bond in a work environment where a co-worker knows such intimate details,” she wrote.

Kashmera also reacted to the use of the term “murderers” for women who stand up for and protect their loved ones.

“I know I am a strong woman and I married into a family of strong women. We are often called RUDE, OBNOXIOUS, DOMINATING, FOCUSSED, SELFISH just because we look out for our families but this is the first time we are called ‘murderers’,” she said.

She added that if mothers, wives, sisters and aunts were labelled “murderers” for protecting the men they love, she would accept the tag.

“I am proud that you are such a woman @officialsunitaahuja and I will always stand by you,” Kashmera said while expressing her support for Sunita.

On Saturday, Komal responded to being called a “homewrecker” through a social media post. She alleged that a woman who had been trying to kill her own husband for years could not curse anyone and claimed that nobody could be a homebreaker in a house that was already broken.

Using a Hindi proverb, she also said people should not blindly believe claims made by others without knowing the facts.
