Bangalore, Sep 8: The annual feast of Nativity of Our Mother Mary was celebrated at St Vincent Pallotti Church, Banasawadi - Bangalore with traditional gaiety and fervour.

The services in Konkani commenced at 7.45 am at the Church premises with children offering and honouring Mother Mary with flowers. This was followed by blessing of newly grown paddy corn. Children along with priests and parishioners then proceeded to the Church in a procession to celebrate the Holy Mass.

The main celebrant during the eucharistic celebrations was Fr Ronald Cardoza, who was ably assisted by assistant parish priest, Fr Anthony S. The homily was delivered by Fr Ronald who urged the parents to bring up their children on the values of upholding Konkani culture and language.
 
Blessed corn was distributed to the parishoners at the end of the service. A get-together was held at the Church hall immediately after the service, followed by breakfast, which was attended by the parishioners. Also, sugarcane was distributed to the children present.
