Mangalore, Sep 17: In what may be termed as a bizarre incident, a girl's suicide bid resulted in causing injuries not only to her, but to three others.

The incident occured at MG Road here on Monday September 17 evening.

A girl, whose identity is yet to be ascertained, but who is said to be from a Konkani speaking Mangalorean family, jumped from the third floor of Krishna Complex on MG Road near PVS.

However, instead of hitting the ground she landed on three Malaysians who were passing by that building at that moment, causing them injuries on the face and body.

The girl was rushed to Yenepoya hospital. Her condition is said to be serious.

A crowd gathered at the spot. Kadri police are investigating.

I hope the girl and the 3 malaysian are fine...those 3 poor guys having a really unfortunate day...Wish them getting well soon...And that girl should think about those who loves her, ie her family...imagine how hurtful when they heard she jumped off from a building...and now she makes those boys' parents worried about them...

From now on, we all should be careful when walking on the streets...

You seem to be a master in western culture. First be a Indian, then learn and preach Indian culture.

I think this time Mr.Rakesh Shetty, Mangalore has lost it. He doesnt know what he is saying for God's sake. Where is the Western culture in this whole incident???
We are no one to judge her behaviour and neither can we say whether she is lucky or not! Not everyone in this world feel that they are lucky to be born as humans. I feel pity for those Malyasians. I hope they are covered in their insurance for medical treatment in India.

I really wonder how the media can term the incident of jumping from third floor of the building by the girl as a sucide attempt. After jumping, she she was unconcious means she can not speak.
Interestingly it may be an new attempt to come down in quicker way and so tried. Now it is for three Malasyians to try this method when they return to their country!!!

This is very sad news. Even more sad to see how she was bundled like a garbage bag in a rickshaw on her way to hospital. If we handle a accident victim like this there is always chances of aggravating injuries. Any doctors comments on this please. We need to have a better emergency management system. People, please think serious, one day it may be you. After all you are not above gravity. Before even knowing the facts, people concluded that it was a case of suicide! Great my fellow citizens! my hats off to you!

Whether the girl is Lucky or not, but that Malaysian is surely Lucky. Because two months back in the USA a man jumped through the window of his apartment on fire and fell on a Fire Brigade Officer. That jumping man survived with minor injuries but the Fire Brigade Officer died on the spot as his head struck the hard pavement. Some one had shot this full incident on his mobile which he sold to a TV channel and that was showed live on TV9 in India also.

I notice that Mr. Rakesh Shetty blames the western culture for each and every negative incident that happens in Karnataka. I am sure he will be strictly following the Indian culture i.e. dressed in the traditional Indian clothes, being a pure vegetarian, not having any footwear as the shoes and sandals are made of cow hide etc. etc. I too am not a fan of western culture. but blaming it for these incidents is rather highhandedness in our society where we worship lady deities as Laxmi, Saraswathi, Gauri etc. and beat to death our women folk. A boy child gets all the amenities in the house and the Girl child is thoroughly neglected and has to fend for herself.

Female feticide is practiced where even before birth the girld embrio is killed and we talk of Indian culture. Mr. Shetty first try to educate and uplift your own society then start blaming the western culture. If proper Indian culture is not inculcated by parents (who do not have time for their children because of their constant fights and bickerings)why blame other cultures. Would suggest that you first try to remove the beam in your eyes and clear them before you try to take out the splinter from your neighbours' eyes. Sucide is an individual decision. If there was someone to give moral support or guidance to these midled kids, some empathy is shown to them, I do not think, such incidents will become the day-to-day happenings in our state. You are a staunch supporter of moral police, who are facing disgrace currenly, but try to clean your backyard and then comment on others

In India we have Salman Khans driving Car on Pedestrians, we have girls falling from the Sky on Pedestrians. We have manholes on footpath which may gobble up foot walkers. Walking with an eye in the sky is also risky since you may be gored by stray cattle sleeping in side walk. Walking with helmet may cause baldyness or may not hear mobile calls. Insurance companies do not have any such insurance covers for pedestrians. In all pedestrians face more dangers than the one who is walking in the middle of the road.

Rakesh, your comments are so childish. How can you blame western culture for suicides?
We have to examine our society and understand that because of our society only some of these suicides take place.
Pressure on students to perform in examinations, lack of jobs in society due to which the person in ridiculed/ made fun of, in-laws forcing to bring dowry etc are some situations our society has brought upon some unfortunate souls who find nobody to counsel them.
The need of the hour is to understand and give proper guidance to our younger generation.

It is purely the momentary insanity of the girl to commit suicide instead of taking courage to face the precious life. If she survives, she should be grateful to these Malaysian students who are to be honoured for saving a girl.

Malaysians have read our Puranas and they know very well that India has numerous flying Gods,Yakhsha-yakshis,Devathas, Angels, Celestial beings who are always air-bourne and our sky-way is over crowded with them like Bangalore road, and accidents are frequent in the air between Angels fallen from the grace, who lose their wings and fall on earth and become godman or god-woman, Baba, Amma, Swamy etc.

If she had any grudge against those three poor Malaysians she could have taken revenge in a different way. Just like suicide-bombers, she is a suicide-jumper on the part of Malaysians. Now all the high-rise buildings in Mangalore should have a steep fencing for their terraces especially towards road side. Now onwards, not only keeping their two eyes on left & right the pedestrians should also keep an eye towards sky also.
Just on 10th September we celebrated Suicide-Prevention-Day. Then within one week see how many suicides in our City itself ! Anyway how the reporters found out that the Para-suicider was Konkani speaking ?
