Mangalore, Oct 3:
A mechanized fishing boat capsized while on its return from a fishing expedition here on Tuesday October 2 evening.

The boat, ‘New Star’ which belongs to Firoz, capsized in Alive Bagilu (estuary).

The seven fishermen who were in the boat luckily escaped unhurt. They had embarked on their fishing expedition two days ago.

It is learnt that the boat got stuck in sand because of which it capsized. As a result, sea water entered the engine of the boat and damaged it.

The estimated loss caused by the incident is Rs 5 to 6 lac.

After considerable efforts, the boat was brought ashore at around 9.30 pm. The local fishermen pulled in the boat using ropes.

When you know the weather is bad , the sea rough with high pressure winds why venture out for fishing ? This is basic common sense.
