Mangalore, Nov 2: Sri Rame Sena chief Pramod Muthalik on Friday November 2 opposed the decision of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to invite Pakistan for a limited-over series beginning December 25.
Addressing a press meet here, Muthalik said "Sri Rama Sene will never allow enemy Pakistan to play cricket with the Indian team in Bangalore. Strict action will be taken by our organization regarding this issue."
Hurling a tirade against Pakistan, he said, "Last time 600 people came from Pakistan to watch a match but unfortunately, 137 people are still in India. What are they doing here? Why can't we claim that they are involved in terrorist activities in India? Pakistan is our enemy country which promotes terrorism, fake currency to India, love jihad and supports human trafficking. How can we support such a nation?"
He said that Indian government is trying to win Muslim votes by allowing Pakistan to play cricket in India, and that friendship with Pakistan is not possible given the terror attacks on Indian soil.
Muthalik also slammed the BJP government on the issue of Datta Peeta in Chikmagalur. "BJP is playing with the emotions of Hindus and is doing vote bank politics. The state BJP came to power in the name of Hindutva, Datta Peeta and ban of cow slaughter but today it has fooled the Hindus. This time Hindutva will not help BJP to win," he said.
"In the name of Datta Peeta, MLA and MP of the coastal belt came to power but now they have earned crores together. When Congress government was in power in the state, Hindus had opportunity to see the Datta Paduke but BJP government has failed to make Datta Peeta for Hindus. BJP is not fit to rule in the name of Hindutva as it has failed in its duty. Present day BJP government has filed 18 rowdie charges against Hindus, which is really a shame."
Muthalik also said, "From November 19 to 25 there will be Datta Peeta campaign throughout Karnataka, and on November 25 the valedictory of the campaign will be held in Datta Peeta. More than 10,000 people will take part in it. There will also be procession held from Kamadenu Shree Ganapati Temple and to Bolarameshwar Temple.
"If this time government does not provide a chance to view Datta Paduke and offer puja, we will intensify our struggle. We are ready to sacrifice our lives on this issue," he declared.
Among those present were Sri Rama Sene secretarty Madhusudan, district general secretary Mahesh Koppa and Kumar Malemar.
