Multiplying vehicles, increased passengers (and goods transport) and limited roads are the real reasons for frequent accidents and tragic deaths.

Unless we negotiate and able to provide adequate, safe and regular public transport, by reducing private vehicles which block the roads, the critical situation will sure to continue, which will make us the sufferers and audience of victims and losses.

It is essential to seek a revolutionary change in our land transport system, since it is a need and necessity of the current situation.

It seems like , this accident might have occurred due to the negligence of the non experienced driver , who has least experience to apply the air pressure brakes on the wet slippery road considering the length of the vehicle

The ground reality there is there shortage of skilled /experienced work force in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district including heavy drivers. Further, most of the people behind the wheel/steering are RUNNING the vehicle and NOT DRIVING with sense of traffic rules, especially NO CONSIDERATION FOR OTHER ROAD USERS

Udupi Mangalore and the 42 buses to Talapdy are very famous for their reckless driving. We often hold our lives in hands to travel in these private buses. infact it thrills, but kills.

Mangalore/Udupi buses have absolutely no control only, their motto is to compete with other buses to accommodate more and more passangers in their buses. Unless police levy heavy fine for overtaking and overspeeding these bus drivers, these sort of accidents will continue and the politically powerful owners of these buses use their influence to release these drivers from the custody without touching their hair even.!

These type of drivers shud be put behind the bars.problem is bus owners hush up the case by bribing our honest cops.Hope the bus owner is made to pay the medical bills of those injured.driver should be charged like Mumbai police with culpable homicide/attempt to murder and causing serious injuries.

Who is accountable for the people who were injured and recuperating in the Hospital? Who will pay their bills? What if the accident was of more severe nature? Do we all not know how buses are driven nowadays just to earn a few extra bucks? If the bus driver is arrested (by any chance) who will arrange bail for him? Will his license be suspended?
    WHO WILL BELL THE CAT??

It is high time, the people start raising their voices for introduction of push pull trains between Puttur/Mangalore to atleast upto Bhatkal. Our people do not want to unite for a common cause. Even after so many years of commissioning of Konkan Railway, we have not succeeded in getting a passenger train between Udupi and Mangalore inspite of there being need for such a facility.
