Phase I – awareness about drunken driving
Phase II – use of mobile phones when driving
Phase III – reckless driving habits

I can't understand the motto behind this run. Intelligent people of Mangalore are not aware of these safeties or they don't follow the law of the land? Its funny to see that law implementing authorities running along with them...
Why can't jointly organize a surprise patrol all over the city for min. 6 months to identify the law breakers.
Its better punish the culprits by organizing a marathon program and ask them to run to create an awareness...

Lot of time and effort goes behind organising such events. But ultimately, if none of the above objectives are not attained, then these go in vain.
Though it was a good gesture in inviting a politician, did the organisers feel that the politician will help them in reaching their goals? If any concrete steps towards the betterment of these roads were announced on that day, by the politician, then the run is a huge success and looking at this many such runs could be organised to make Mangalore a better city.
Certainly going by the huge response for this run, shows Mangalore citizens want a change, but we have to fight it out like this, unlike depending on politicians!

Long over due ! NGOs, Colleges and Public in general need to come together and promote this urgent initiative. Local industry can support as part of their CSR. How ever why a tainted politician ? Look at his face Ingu thinda manga ! There is Dharmadhikari who has been appointed by the GOK as Traffic Ambassador ! This looks like stage show of Palimar for next election !

Namith, Kottara - I fully agree with you that it is a great, inspiring event for a worthy cause. People should appreciate the thought and efforts of 92.7 FM for the same. At the same time make sure to keep away unpopular personalities from such events. Please note that by endorsing Mr. Palemar we are kind of supporting land grab mafia as well as porn culture.

Though it is encouraging to see such a huge number running for a worthy cause, the objectives cannot be obtained until RTO gives full support! Looking at the rash driving and daily deaths, this run will be useless until something seriously is being done about bad bus driving habits, bad roads, poor RTO policies. Let the RTO promise these youngsters that they will create a revolution on Mangalore roads, then the objective of this run is fulfilled and next year there will be many many more supporters.

It is very good to see younger generation is out there to create awareness about safe driving within the district. But would not like to see politicians over there. It would add much weight had some NGO or teachers associations joined to express more solidarity. But good job all the best and you guys deserve big thanks.

Shame on us Mangaloreans! Don't we have a single decent, clean and respectable gentleman to lead this procession? Atleast to maintain the dignity of these great causes.
