Bangkok: Thai Kannada Balaga Celebrates Diwali, Rajyotsava

Bangkok, Nov 5: Thai Kannada Balaga-Bangkok, Thailand, celebrated Diwali and Rajyotsava-2012 on Sunday November 4 with a splendid ceremony at Hotel Lotus Navotel Bangkok.

The function was inaugurated by lighting Diwali lamps by the TKB committee and the guest from Bangalore Manjula Gururaj.

The TKB kids performed an amazing Kolata dance with traditional Kannada ethnic songs, followed by a short drama and dance by Kannada community children of Bangkok.

Kannada melody queen Manjula Gururaj and L N Shastri kept the atmosphere alive with various Kannada and Hindi classical and filmy songs.

The TKB completed ten years in Thailand and the present president Muthu detailed the formation and progress of TKB in Bangkok.

Former presidents Vincy Daniel Pinto, Vinaya Rai, Habib, Ravi, Mohandas, Mukund Rao were present.

Air India airport supervisor for Bangkok, Nagesh Shetty-Suratkal was also present.
 
The TKB had conducted various games on the sports day organized at Pan Asia International School at Bangkok for children and adults.The winners and runners-up of badminton - Arun, Laxmi Acharya, Vinaya Rai and Vincy Daniel Pinto - were given trophies by the chief guest Manjula Gururaj.

The event conluded with a delicious buffet lunch by Noavotel Lotus.
