New Delhi, Nov 5 (IANS): India Against Corruption (IAC) leader Arvind Kejriwal said Monday he was trying to get a DERC order that reportedly seeks a cut in Delhi's power tariff - and he vowed to make it public.
Taking forward his fight against the capital's power rates, he tweeted while on his way to the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) office.
"Let's see if we can get a copy of that order from DERC. If we get it, we will immediately make it public," Kejriwal said.
Kejriwal last week filed an RTI plea demanding disclosure of what he says is an April-May 2010 draft tariff order which reportedly recommended reduction in tariff rates.
"DERC drafted an order to decrease electricity rates in Delhi in 2010," he said.
"(Delhi Chief Minister) Sheila Dikshit stopped the order. Later, an order was passed to increase tariffs. (The) BJP also has a copy of that order. Both BJP and Congress refused to make it public," Kejriwal said.
"DERC knows quite well which order are we asking for. We would urge DERC to now provide us a copy of that order," he said.
