The police have seized seven Pulsar bikes, two Honda Activas, and a Yamaha bike, along with seven gas cylinders, altogether worth Rs 4.5 lac. The bikes were stolen during 2011-12.

They were arrested based on suspicion as the bikes were found without documents. Also, various complaints had been lodged in the places where they were stolen from. The gas cylinders were stolen from schools, canteens and houses.

Most of the two-wheelers are registered in Mangalore, and one each in Kerala and Puttur. Police teams were formed to trace the culprits.

'Sowjanya's parents have not given formal appeal for CBI Probe'

Referring to the rape and murder case of 17-year-old Sowjanya whose body was found near Pangala in Dharmasthala last month, SP Goyal said that the her parents have not given a formal written appeal urging investigation by CBI or CoD. Following the incident, Sowjanya's family had demanded probe by an investigation agency.

He added that family could approach him or other senior police officers to submit an appeal in this regard.

"Various people and organizations have been demanding a copy of the FIR. But the FIR can be given only to the complainant and not anyone else. If they want a copy, they can apply for it through RTI," he said.

He also said the forensic reports in the case will take six months for submission.

"Santhosh Rao who has been arrested in the case is the only person involved," he asserted.

These people will never learn the dignity of labour, they want to live an easy life by stealing and by becoming a burden to the society they live in. Parents are to be blamed for the upbringing of this kind of criminals. It is easy for them to get out of these charges and continue to do their criminal activities.

Instead of giving opportunity to these jobless people, i would suggest RTO Department to start yearly registration of Vehicles. Similarly take more interest on security of the citizens by introducing National ID Card(with Fingerprints, Eyeball scan, Head skelton scan and facial recognition combined with all the personal documents like Birth certificate, Ration card, Passport, Marriage certificate, Driving licence, Death certificate etc etc) and have atleast once in two years registration of the ID card. If this is introduced and done with full force, i am 100% sure 95% of the present crimes would be tracked and punished within no time.

Excellent drive to nab these vehicle lifters.

Nowadays, it is scary to park your cars for few hours for a quick shopping even day time at city limits. You are not sure, your vehicle would be present there till you are back.

Congrats to police team and please continue your crusade against these thugs.
