Abu Dhabi, Nov 11: Billawara Balaga Abu Dhabi, one of the oldest Billawa organizations in the Gulf region, will be celebrating Deepavali festival with Laxmi Puja at Nihal Restaurant banquet hall on November 14 at 7 pm.

The Balaga has been celebrating anniversary programmes every year on a large scale with colourful variety entertainment. Several dignitaries and artistes were invited from India and were honored on these occasions. Picnics were conducted and festivals were celebrated.

Popular Tulu plays were successfully staged in Abu Dhabi and Dubai on the occasion of anniversaries.

Billawara Balaga formed in 1994 with the goal of caring and sharing was the first Billawa organization in the Gulf area, which inspired birth of many Billawa associations in the region.

During the last summer vacation, having read in newspaper, Balaga’s committee members visited Pushpa Pujary and her daughter at Paniyur who was living in a poor house without toilet. She was provided with required financial help immediately by Billawara Balaga.

For the past few years, Billawara Balaga has been actively distributing scholarship to the needy and poor Billawa children in and around Mangalore. Balaga will also be celebrating its 19th anniversary programme with colourful events at Abu Dhabi in April 2013.
