Moodbidri, Nov 20: A bus plying from Kinnigoli to Moodbidri rammed into an electric pole and a wall near Moodbidri bus stop here on Tuesday November 20, grievously injuring two pedestrians.

The injured have been identified as Satish (29) of Kervase and Satish (21) of Konaje. They have been admitted to Alva's hospital with serious injuries.

The accident occured when the driver of the bus 'Chakra' lost control while bringing the vehicle to a halt at the bus stop. The bus jerked backwards, hitting a wall and an electric pole, and injuring the two pedestrians.

A Honda Activa which was parked nearby was also damaged in the incident.

At 8 am the bus dropped passengers at Samaja Mandira entrance and then moved towards the bus stop. Luckily, it did not move down the road as that would have resulted in a major tragedy.

Town municipal president Ratnakar Devadiga rushed to the spot and with the help of locals and police got the broken electric pole and debris cleared.

The locals said that the spot is known for such mishaps. Buses plying from Mangalore as well as Karkala often meet with accidents when people or other vehicles come in the way.

A big crowd gathered at the spot.

Moodbidri police are investigating.

It may be the fault of the driver as the bus rammed into an electric pole or the bus was not road worthy. May the injured have a speedy recovery.

Moodbidri Bus Stand technically has a wrong entrance. Buses are supposed to enter bus stand at 45 degree height and its not a direct entance for buses buses coming in from Mangalore have to take a right and climb up and the spot being a major junction usually is filled with traffic and people. I know this incident is not related to this, but few years back at same place a bus ramped into Scorpio and other vehicles injuring 3 college students one being very badly hurt, till date, cos he could not attend a semester after the incident.

Some incidents leave back a long scar on affected people and thier family. Hope some drives understand.

The City Bus as well as the Ambulance drivers has the licenses to kill. They don't respect the traffic rules and flaunts the basic rule of driving.
I wish the RTO authority ban the soft bodied and dangerously speeding, Maruthi-Omni as ambulances and also they come out with awareness drive to the general public that whenever they hear that ‘unique Ambulance-Siren’, the drivers ahead of it should allow the critically ill patient carrying, ambulance to overtake their vehicles so that the patient inside it reaches the hospital on time. The RTO should check ambulance drivers without critically ill patient in the ambulances misuse their power and fool the public and such driver’s DL should be confiscated.

1 Minute to 5 Minute work Permit Granted.

Bus drivers lost themselves how to manage the time. Punctuality should learn from any of the bus driver, Still able to manage with the given work permit with existing bad road system, otherwise job matter, family bread matter, children education matter will arise.

In case if Government repair the road and similar to GCC then Government may grant quarter Minute work permit better don’t repair the road. If Present plan is there also, future planning is not there over night decision will be changed.

Equally all political leader and state Government also responsible for this kind of accident totally confusion from 1947 August 15.so many political leaders looted public money and enjoying and set up for their next 5 generation source. Still we all thinking about same generation existing problem like road problem, water problem, and electricity problem.

Failure to provide us the sophisticated road system, if provide also may be work permit will be released every quarter minute. Because ution too delayed if plan is there then another political plan ready to take the advantage of the implemented plan

The bus drivers in Moodbidri Bus Stand are very very rash most of the times. The agents are sceaming "Bega Bega" (This is the desease they have plagued)while passengers get off or boarding buses.Once this year I was waiting for the bus in bus stand a speedy bus(Abhiman bus)driver almost crash onto me,luckily by grace of God I survived. These bus drivers never bother people walking in Bustands and only gaze at bus timings and then pick up passengers on thier routes by overtaking other vehicles regardless of RTA rules, thus this accident occured due to reaching the bus stand at hurry?

O.K. One sentence in the article...'Buses plying from Mangalore as well as Karkala often meet with accidents when people or other vehicles come in the way'...Woah! Say...this will happen in every way! Why for buses plying from M'lore n Karkala only should get such honour?
In any case, looks like the residents of the accident area , will get 'fractured' current today! God save the Pole! Yes-Pole!!
