Mangalore: Shaktinagar Church Christmas Tableau Spreads Message of Peace

Mangalore, Dec 24: Catholic Sabha unit of Mother of God Church, Shaktinagar organized a Christmas tableau commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, under the guidance of the parish priest Fr Walter D’Souza.

Shakila Kava, Padua corporator, Thimmappa Shetty, Vinod Shaktinagar, Fr Maxim D’Souza, Fr Jaya Prakash and Fr Maxim were the guests of honour.

The programme began on a high note with prayer dance and skit performed by the little children and other parishioners. The tableau included a skit depicting the birth of Jesus. Christmas Father ‘Santa Claus’ entertained the crowd and distributed goodies to the kids while the choir sang carols.

The tableau was presented at three public places like Preethinagar Bus Stand, near Rama Shakthi mission and Muthappa Gudi.

The president of the Catholic Sabha unit Johnson D’Souza & his team organized the event with cooperation from five local associations such as ‘Seven guys-Mugrodi’, ‘Biddel friends’, ‘Tuluvera Koota’, ‘Shakthi Friends club’, ‘Deepa friends club’ and ‘Jygaana Deepa Mahila Mandal’.

The event was witnessed by a huge gathering.

As part of the celebration, Christmas sweets ‘Kuswar’ were distributed among the crowd.

The celebration indeed envisaged the message of ‘unity in diversity’ among the people in the area. The whole programme was compered by Yashwanth D S.
