M'lore: Mount Carmel School Holds Prayer Service in Memory of Delhi Rape Victim

Mangalore, Jan 5: A special prayer service for the departed soul of the Delhi rape victim was organized at Mount Carmel Central School, Maryhill, here on Friday, January 4. Students, staff and parents took part in the prayer service.

In her address, social activist Vidya Dinker urged all those gathered to rise against such atrocities on women and gender discrimination. She further asked every woman to be bold enough and fight against such social evils.

The students offered a silent prayer for the departed soul. A special song on women was also sung during the service.

Students from Infant Jesus Higher Primary School and Vijaymari Technical Institute also took part in the prayer service.

This was followed by a silent walk by the students from the school ground to Padavinangady, Bondel.

    Supporting such causes are very very necessary but at the same time we have to be alert at all times and never give up. Shout and fight as much you can, because every body has her own self respect.
