Mangalore: Labourer Dies After Falling from Building

Mangalore, Jan 6: One labourer died and two others are critical after they accidentally fell from the second floor of a medical college in Deralakatte on Saturday January 5.

The deceased has been identified as Chennappa (36) from Kodagu. The injured workers were Santhosh and Ajanooru who are undergoing treatment in Deralakatte hospital.

As per the information received, the workers were engaged in welding work of the building which was under repair. The rod in which they were standing while welding is said to be broken and thus they fell down. Soon they were rushed to hospital, but Chennappa breathed his last.

Sources said that Chennappa and two other workers were residing in Padavinangady and Shakthinagar for the past few years.

A case is registered at the Ullal police station.
