Udupi: Youth on Fishing Expedition Goes Missing

Udupi, Jan 7: A youth who left home for fishing went missing near Hejamady Kodi on Sunday January 6 evening.

The missing youth has been identified as Pradeep Kumar (22), son of Krishnappa Kotian and Sundari, residents of Parapatta Janardhana Thotha, Hejamady Kodi.

It is learnt that Pradeep who was fishing in the deep sea was washed away by strong winds and high tides. The nearby locals tried to save him, but their efforts went in vain. One of his friends, Sunil, who rushed to his rescue, was also pulled by the high tides, but another Yathish safely pulled him back to the shore.

Pradeep is survived by his parents and sister. He worked as a painter and was the only breadwinner in the family.

However, Pradeep could not be traced. A search is on to locate him.
