Kundapur: One Dies in Bike Accident

Kundapur, Jan 7:  In a tragic accident, a lorry rammed into a bike while trying to overtake another lorry. Both lorries belonged to the same company that supplies chicken.

The bike rider was killed on the spot and the pillion rider sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the nearby Koteshwar private hospital. The accident took place on Saturday night here near Kateri at Koteshwara.

The diseased has been identified as Umesh (30) and the injured identified as Ragvendra, elder brother of Umesh.

It is learnt that the incident occured when Umesh took his brother on his bike from his rented house located in Kalavara’s Thotilamaki, Salvadi village to Beejadi, Raghavendra's home.

The two 407 lorries belong to Vakvadi Al Sharaf company. The accident occurred when one of the lorries (KA 20 C 4779) tried to overtake the other and collided with the bike.

Umesh died due to head injury and heavy bleeding. Both the siblings were sole bread winners for family. Umesh is survived by his wife and one-year old child. Umesh’s body was kept at the Kundapur Government hospital.
