Michael, Mangalore this type of news makes people like Jossey Saldanha happy.

Jossey Saldanha i didnt want to add political colour to this incident, but since you did would like to say there is slight change in your comment. The sign board should be Corrupt Italian in rule -40 kmph.

Don't know if this is the same car but a week ago, a driver on a Maruthi Swift of same color as that in the photos above with same KA-20 (do not remember other numbers) was driving like a maniac. There was this car already trying to overtake a lorry and out of nowhere at freakishly high speed this car showed up trying to overtake both of them, with me in the opposite direction having very little time and room for maneuver. It was very very close and this car would have hit me. This incident happened just before Udyavar (towards Udupi) where the double lane work is still going on. I for one believe that people especially on this highway should be put high on tranquilizer and only then put behind the wheels. How else can you explain such a reckless driving not only endangering themselves but also other well meaning people on the road?

For no mistake of mine and riders of a two-wheeler also on road who hit me from behind I got a dent on my car and the rider of two-wheeler along with pillion rider got hurt (luckily just external bruises but still a sight I never want to see on anyone, anymore). I did not have any words to explain but take those profusely bleeding bike riders to hospital, pay up for their medical expenses and damages to the bike, just because this freakish car showed up hellishly for few seconds and disappeared. Sometimes I feel, they should close those roads until all the work is done, or put up speed brakers all over the place until all the work is completed.

Jossey Saldhana - please get over your BJP fixation. You are displaying your ignorance about who maintains national highways. Every issue need not be given political colour. May the deceased rest in peace.

I exhort all my friends who drive, first thank God for having given the comfort of a car, secondly, never over take, never over take unless it is safe, keep smiling while driving and never speed.

Karnataka roads are capable of only 40 kmph. I guess we need to put road signs "BJP in rule - 40 kmph".

Only three things sure kills people while driving, First one “Driving after consuming alcohol”, “Driving when you feel sleepy or tired” and the last one is “Speed”. What can we say for this kind of accident except lending our heartfelt condolences!!!
