Why some people are blaming POLICE, they are just maintaining law and order, the laws passed by government (democratically elected) and leave it to judiciary, which takes the final decision. Police are following what is told them to do through so called acts/rules/judgements/notifications/circulars etc. etc.

Its all politics... Y dont central govt make cow as national animal so that killing and eating can be banned in india easily. Its an effective solution. Both cong/bjp want this issue to be live thats y no solution till now.
Minorities can live without cow meat. But million dollar question is if Cow meat is banned, what majority of people will do with their unproductive cows?
Sorry to say many people worship these cows which is appriciating but no one is feeding these type of unproductive cows ????
    Only drama/politics...

This is a highly controversial matter. Some varieties of fish sells for Rs 900 per kg & 'lamb' is Rs 320 per kg.Vegetables are over Rs 40-50 per kg on average. In these days, a significant proportion of people consume beef, because they cannot afford other meat proteins.A large no of people make a living out of beef trade, including the small time village farmer. who cannot afford to feed unproductive/male cattle.Govt should consider all these factors before letting loose police on the butcher who is trying to make a living through honest means. The pictures show that most of the animals were male & cannot be called "cows" at any rate.So would it not be fair & more appropriate for the Administration/Police to encourage/enable the butcher to obtain proper 'licences' rather than face harassment ?

Who is supposed to raid the slaughter house? Is it the Police Inspector who are entrusted for the law and order OR the food inspectors.

Food inspectors along with the police personnel to raid the illegal slaughter house is understandable?

Unfortunately in India, the law is not very specific like in France, Turkey. We have copied the British garbage and that is why the police, govt. officials and machinery using the loopholes and harrassing the weaker sections of the society.

WHO IS SELLING THEIR COWS TO THESE PEOPLE? IF YOU WNT AN ANSWER JUST GO TO VILLAGES AND SPEAK TO PEOPLE, YOU WILL GET THE ANSWER, IF A COW GIVE BIRTH TO A BULL THEY WILL SURELY BE FEEDING IT TO SELL IT TO A BUTCHER, WHAT ELSE THEY WILL DO WITH THAT? EVEN PEOPLE ARE SELLING AGED COWS TO BUTCHERS, SO THAT THEY CAN GET A GOOD RATE, NOBODY IS RAISING COWS WITHOUT BENEFIT, ALL ARE RAISING TO GET BENEFIT, IF BUFFALOS ARE GOD WHY THE HELL PEOPLE USING THEM FOR CULTIVATION? WHY YOU GUYS ARE ENJOYING KAMBALAS(RACE)? SOME SAFFRON AGENTS ARE OPPOSING IT ONLY BECAUSE MUSLIMS ARE INVOLVED.

The owner escapes does not prove that he kept them for slaughter. How the police could take away the cows from his house in his absence. Its a lawless situation. The safron government has no control over the police. The police should find the accused and then bring the cows and produce them in the court. If you give this case to Ram Jethmalani he can fight and win the case and make the police pay fine and ten times worth of the cows.

Coomon sense tells all cows are tame/domesticated animals.

My question is why were they handed over to Forest department??
Were they left in the wild ??

It would have been prudent if they had handed it over to Pilikula authorities so that the milk could be fed to the young animals recuperating under thier care.
