Bantwal, Jan 28: One worker died due to landslip that occurred at a construction site at B C Road here on Monday January 28.

The deceased has been identified as Sharath (22), son of Ramanna Poojary from Kakkepadav.

Work on the construction of a convention hall has been going on in front of Chandikaparameshwari Temple in B C road. As no adequate precautionary measures were taken in advance, the incident is said to have taken place.

The incident took place at around 2.50 pm. Workers Harish, Achutha, Nitish, Jagadish and Sharath were working on pillar installation when the landslip occurred. While Sharath was trapped, the others managed to escape.

Fire brigade along with police officials after one-and-a-half hour battle retrieved Sharath's body.

As there was no ambulance available, the inspector shifted the body to government hospital in his jeep. Hundreds of people gathered at the spot.

May his soul RIP & may God console the bereaved.
Either engineers or contractors are ignorant or callous it seems in assessing the danger of digging deep nearby a hillock without taking any measures to avoid landslip, which caused this tragedy.
108 Ambulances have specific instructions to take serious patients only to hospitals, they are barred from carrying dead.
For the same reason they disappeared from the scene to avoid violating the rule. In Mangalore when a drunkard died they did the same act many months back.

In India,it is common practice, that Safety is adhered, only after a mishap. Till then, till one is free, nobody bothers.

I myself in the business of safety, have upteems times tell our clients, please - please do not ignore the precaution we have suggested, presenting our Safety Audit Report.

A little care, can save life, your environment. The family at home, is awaiting for his man to come home.

See the case here. Sad it is. But let a week pass by, all will be forgotten. But the loss of the family member, is a mighty blow to the dependents.

HIGH TIME, THE AUTHORITIES WAKE UP, ENFORCE THE STATUTORY REQUIREMENTS STRICTLY.

Constructors may not be aware of a property being exposed to a hazard until it strikes. However, specialists can be hired to conduct risk identification and assessment surveys. Purchase of insurance covering the most prominent identified risks is a common measure.and a life would have been saved if the construction policy/norms was followed risk management theory or responsible officials should issue certificate before start work but...now the loss of a life is heavy for family
