Colaco's 'Clarks Exotica' wins international IQS Award from BID, Spain

New York/Bangalore, Mar 4: NRE entrepreneur Ronald Colaco who is well-known for his philantropic and social service activities is now in a rare news, but this time for his entrepreneur skills. 'Clark Exotica Resort Hotel' promoted by him at Swiss Town Bangalore has bagged the prestigious International Quality Summit (IQS) Award in the Gold category for the year 2013, to be presented in New York.
The hotel has been chosen by the BID (Business Initiative Directions), Madrid, Spain and the Award will be presented on May 27, 2013 at the Ballroom of New York Marriott Marquis, Manhattan, New York.
According to sources, Clarks Exotica is the only hotel in 2013 to be awarded this prestigious honour in the hospitality industry in entire India.
Clarks Exotica Resort Hotel, fully owned by Ronald Colaco, is operated by Clarks Group of Hotels under the stewardship of Vivek Kumar, who also owns a number of five star hotels in northern India, well-known for their quality service. The current vice-president of this resort hotel is Balaji.
Nigel Colaco, an engineering postgraduate from Manchester University, UK, and son of Ronald Colaco, is the project director, handling various projects including this resort hotel.
The hotel, set amidst sprawling 250 acres in Swiss Town, is a world of luxury complemented by lush foliage, variety of indoor and outdoor sports and recreation facilities, swimming pools and water slides, and a high-standard spa and banqueting facilities, situated close to Bangalore International Airport.
This resort hotel is not confined to one concrete jungle, but is spread out in different units, thus providing the guests the pleasure of walking around amidst greenery and scenery.
This prestigious award, for Clarks Exotica in Gold category 2013, was chosen after multiple meetings held by the IQS committee in the emblematic cities of Paris, London, Madrid, Geneva, Frankfurt and New York over the past ten months from among 118 countries based on the IQS regulations and the criteria of the QC 100 Total Quality Management Model.
The coordinating member of BID informed in a press note that the participating leaders and experts in quality and excellence submitted their votes, in the hospitality industry category, for the candidacy of Clarks Exotica Resort Hotel in Swiss Town, Bangalore.
The companies and organisations to be awarded in 2013 have been designated by the IQS selection committee as distinguished local and national leaders or large corporations, all of which demonstrate excellence within each sector, increased market share, leadership and improved results as well as sustainability.
