Mangalore: Thieves snatch gold chain from elderly woman

Mangalore, Mar 5: Two thieves arrived on a bike, snatched a gold chain belonging to an elderly woman while she was walking on the roadside near Karavali Lane in Kadri on Sunday March 3.

The chain weighing 6 sovereigns belongs to Celine D’Souza (68).

It is learnt that the chain was purchased for Rs 76,000 around 20 years ago. Celine is a resident of Karavali lane in Kadri and the incident took place when she was on her way back home after attending a Sunday mass in Bendur church.

A case has been registered at the Kadri police station.
