Kundapur: Campaigning gets hectic in final few hours

Kundapur, Mar 5: Hectic activity was witnessed in the town on Monday March 4 as everyone was busy supporting their favorite political parties and seeking votes for them.

Monday was the last day of campaigning for Kundapur town municipal council elections and all the political parties were busy with the propaganda.

MP K Jayaprakash Hegde initiated the campaign for the Congress party in the presence of  block Congress president Maliyadi Shivaram Shetty and secretary Chandrashekar Shetty. In support of CPM candidates, district leader Shanker was present. For the BJP party, one of the Kundapur, Byndoor area committee presidents B Kishor Kumar and several representatives were present.

JD(S) taluk leaders Ramesh and others requested the people to vote fortheir candidates. Independent candidates and their supporters went on a door-to-door campaign.

The general opinion among the voters was that the actual campaigning and appeasing of voters would begin from Monday evening and hence, the election officers would be wise to stay alert.
