Mangalore, Mar 14: St Aloysius Evening College celebrated the college day on March 9 at 6 pm at the College grounds. 

Praveen Nayak KCS, assistant registrar of Cooperative Societies was the chief guest. Deepti was the guest of honour.  Fr Joseph Rodrigues, rector, St Aloysius College Institutions, was the president for the programme. atalo

"Students from the college always progress into high achievers and are hard working as some of them work during the day and attend college in the evening," stated Praveen Nayak.

He continued to saying, "Only 6% of the students in the country can pursue higher education, the rest work in firms. Every individual has to remember three segments in his life which are parents, teachers and college. The population of India is not pose as a problem but it is a wealth to the nation. There are several job opportunities but skill is what is required."

Fr Michael John , administrator said,"learning is not only acquiring degree, but it is a self formation. Education to an individual helps to develop moral values and ethics to deal in a society."

Fr Joseph Rodrigues stated," this institution has provided the opportunity to economically poor students to pursue their education. Students come to this evening college, in their leisure hours, strive hard to reach their goal. The institution has ensured good quality education, privileged solidarity service for those who are actually deprived from education. The institution has been a beckoning light for thousands of students’ life. This institution offers education with strengthen moral and social commitment.      

The formal programme was followed by a unique cultural programme which displayed the multi-faceted talents of the students.   

The speciality of the programme was that nearly 100 students participated in a 50 minute non-stop presentation on a single concept.

Prizes were distributed on this occasion to the student achievers in different fields.
