Each Naga Mandala costs not less than Rs.30 lakhs ( some wealthy hoteliers and Underworld people from Mumbai spend as much as Rs.60 to 70 lakhs). If the same money is spent to repair dilapidated village school buildings, then Naga Brahma God will be 1000 times more happy.
Mahesh Kotian should be applauded for his fearless comment and breaking the mental barrier or Superstition about Naga worship.
This Tulu Nadu existed since last 5 crore years as confirmed by Geological Researchers. So, the Mythical story of 5000 year old Parashurama Shrusti connected with Naga Worship is imaginary.

After all it is their faith , let them spend money . Money spent circulate into economy . Who are we to question how money is spent . It is their money and not of Tax payers or public money ! If any one is concerned about building schools or hospitals , they should lobby with their elected representatives to seek government budget or Corporates under their CSR or. Charitable organisation for funding

Serpents deserve reverence and respect because their extinction leads to ecological imbalance. It is for this reason that our ancestors started worshiping. But nowadays we see that Priests, swamijies blackmail people saying that cause of their miseries are because of harm caused to serpents by their ancestors and take huge amount of money for performing pariharas. Even educated

people believe in it and involve in it out of compulsion from other members of the family.
Now a days such programs have increased especially in

South Kanara. Lot of money is collected from public and wasted(?).
We follow western culture in everything, then Why not we stop such farce and divert our energy to some constructive programs to educate people who are idle and are likely to involve in crime against women.
