The accident took place when a tanker collided head-on with an ambulance that was on its way to Mangalore from Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh. The tanker was plying from Mangalore to Bangalore.

Jessy was a diabetes patient and was undergoing treatment in a hospital in Mangalore earlier. Sometime back, she was taken to Sai Baba Hospital in Andhra Pradesh, where doctors told her to shift to Bangalore for better treatment. However, before going to Bangalore, the family decided to conduct some more tests in Mangalore as she was undergoing treatment there. It was when the family were bringing her to Mangalore by ambulance when tragedy struck.

Its a pity that in India mostly in Karnataka hardly anyone follows the traffik rules.and our police people also just dont care or not in position to control it.too many vehicles less place everybody is in hurry. one who doesnt care rules should be punished with withdrawl of licence(if they have one)and payment .a register is needed and above some points no licence allowed. and for heavy vehicles still more laws are needed.whereas in europe heavy veicles carrying passangers (BUS or lorrys) have speed limit and there is a marking which shows at which speed he drew and must rest for half an hour atleast after driving 8hours. and the police controls here and there the meter. suppose he misachts he willbe punished with money and gets some points.after some points withdrawel of licence. and important that the vehicle also should be tiptop .that also is controlled .when not not allowed to travel on highways.but in India certain vehicles have more juteknotes than nuts and bolts.here the politik is sleeping and poor people have to die on the roads.very sorry .

RIP. Ambulance and Emergency services drivers too should follow traffic rules. This case it might not have been the emergency but the rash overtaking by the tanker. Mangalore Bangalore road is consistently returning souls to Yamraj. Authorities are sleeping. Camera monitoring will help.

Don't be fooled by these Ambulance drivers. Not every Ambulance posing a siren is going to help an injured / sick person.

This is very tragic and condolences to the families of the deceased.

In Mangalore last week a Cop at Balmatta circle stopped an Ambulance which had simply put on the siren and wanted to get through the normal traffic.( There was no traffic congestion at that moment ). When the Cop inspected the Ambulance he found no patient in it nor was it going to pick up a patient. The driver pleaded that he had a very bad stomach and was rushing home to ease himself. This is how the State is. Is there actually law & order in Karnataka ?

Its the duty of every citizen to stop their vechile aside and give way for the ambulance. How can the tanker driver be so stupid to drive rashly when there is a ambulance present on the road.
