Let the HPCL sanction/allot IRS 20,00,000 as a compensation per head instead of IRS 1,50,000. Let our DC and Higher Police department put pressure to sanction 20,00,000. Those who lost their lives that is irreparable loss to their families. Is it HPCL was giving alms to the bereaved family? Is it IRS 1,50,000 is the value of death lives.

If you compare this to compensations given for Mangalore Air crash victim's family, its nothing:.
Why this discrimination? People died for no mistake of theirs and survivors lost their home and dear ones. I still remember how much coverage media had given for AI crash how they acted in this case.

Is HPCL is that poor to give a reasonable compensation? Not sure how many of these had insurances? Can the governments make the insurance mandatory? No, it won't. Rice at 1 or 2 rupees can attract more votes than a policy.

That's it!!!!! Nowadays, this compensation is peanuts in India. Such a huge corporation must give a minimum of rupees 50 lakhs to each deceased and 25 lakhs to each seriously injured. It should be HPCL'S responsibility to take care while carrying such a dangerous LP gas. They should have proper insurance to take care of these types of incidents.
