Bangalore blast victims write CET from hospital ward

Bangalore, May 2 (DHNS): Rakshita Sujay and N S Leesha, two second PU students who were injured in the blast near the BJP office in Malleswaram recently, wrote the Common Entrance Test (CET) on Wednesday from their hospital ward.

The two have been undergoing treatment at M S Ramaiah Hospital here. The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) had permitted them to take the test from the hospital itself, where a separate ward was reserved for them to facilitate their exam. Five officials from the KEA were present to organise the exam, along with a police official, as per the convention.

A few stand-by doctors were also available to attend on the students in case of any emergency. The two girls managed to write the test in time, said Dr Naresh Shetty, president, MS Ramaiah Hospital.

From the last two days, the doctors trained them to sit, as the girls were finding it hard to rest on their back following the surgery and medication. “I found Mathematics paper hard. Not because the paper was tough but I could not prepare before the exam. I have done my best in the present circumstances and, I am revising for the next exam,” said Leesha.

The two would have lost out on a chance to apply for their desired engineering and medical courses had they failed to write the test.
