Udupi, May 27:
The body of a 33-year-old man was found in a decomposed state near Indrali railway bridge at Manipal near here on Monday May 27.

The deceased has been identified as Krishnappa, a tourist taxi driver from Kolar.

As per the information obtained, it is suspected that the man might have died three or four days back.

Speaking to daijiworld, circle inspector Sadananda said that on May 23, he drove from Krishna Math to railway bridge, but it is not known what happened thereafter.

He had come from Kolar with a few tourists. When they realized that he had gone missing, they lodged a complaint in Manipal police station. They returned to Kolar by hiring another vehicle.

The body was discovered when foul smell emanated in the area and a staff from Jayadev Motors nearby informed the police.

Krishnappa's vehicle along with insurance papers, licence, RC book were recovered by the police. Also, Rs 4,000-5,000 in cash, mobile phone and a watch were found on Krishnappa. The family has been contacted.

As money, watch and mobile phone were found intact, police said that it might have been a natural death caused by cardiac arrest. However, the exact reason will be determined after post-mortem.

The body was shifted to mortuary and will be handed over to the family. Manipal police have registered a case.
