Mangalore, May 30:
In an incident that took place in the wee hours of Thursday May 30, a cement mixer truck toppled near Natekal curve road after the driver lost control.

The accident occured at around 3 am.

Though the truck was badly smashed, the driver had a lucky escape as he sustained only minor injuries

It is said that the truck was plying from Mangaore city to Infosys, Konaje.

A case has been registered in Konaje police station.

In another incident, a truck moving on NH 66 got stuck in between the half-constructed road near Kallapu in Thokottu.

Due to the rain over the past few days, water had accumulated in the gap between the two roads which resulted in this incident.

The situation might turn worse on this road during heavy rains if officials concerned do not take immediate measures, said locals.

The rains have just started and the roads are accumulated with water. There is no flow of water as the drainage's are closed. The chances of accidents are more during the rainy season especialy to the two wheeler riders. The MCC is requested to take immediate measures to avoid accidents due to accumulation of water on roads.
