Mangalore: Big 'Paani Bachao' RJ marathon creates positive waves

Mangalore, May 31: RJ Errol of 92.7 BIG FM Mangalore on Friday May 31 successfully conducted his 15-hour non-stop marathon on the concept 'Paani Bachao', with the aim of creating awareness among people about the need for water conservation.

Many celebrities from various spheres of life visited the studio located on the second floor of Bharath Mall. Some of the celebrities despite not being able to be physically present made sure they took part in the marathon through phone-in. They said that they felt very happy to be associated with this cause.

The celebrities stressed on the importance of water and the need to preserve it for the future generations.

On this occasion, male lead actor Rakshith Shetty of 'Simplag Ond Love Story' fame was congratulated on the success of his movie, and a cake cutting ceremony was held at the Bharath Big Cinemas premises.

The celebrities who spoke on this occasion include India’s ace badminton player Saina Nehwal, Sandalwood actresses Rishika Singh, Harshika Poonacha and Shwetha Pandit, actor Rakshit Shetty of 'Simplag Ond Love Story' fame, Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr Veerendra Heggade, Dr Mohan Alva, chairman of Alva's Education Foundation, senior journalists Sheshagiri Rao, Manohar Prasad and Srinivasan Nandagopal, Dafnal Concessao of Exotica Trust, Vishwas Kamath, Mallikarjun from Bharath Mall, amongst many others.

Many listeners also visited the studio and interacted with RJ Errol.

    First and foremost. So called celebrities, use "Mineral waters".
    Every function they attend, served with bottle, half drunk, rest thrown in to dust bin.
    Celebrities, either carry half drunk bottles, or opt for " Glass of water"

    ANY LEVEL OF CONSERVATION IS NOT ENOUGH TO KEEP PACE WITH THE EROSION OF RESOURCES.
    BY 2060 WORLD WILL NOT HAVE ANY FISH IN THE SEAS, OCEANS AND RIVERS.
    WHEN WE WERE SMALL KIDS WE USED TO GATHER IN FRONT OF RESTAURANTS FOR WATER TO QUENCH OUR THIRST.
    HOWEVER I WONDER IF THE HOTELS MAY PROVIDE THE SERVICE IN DAYS TO COME.
    THIS IS A CALL FOR AWAKENING.
    A CALL TOO LATE AND TOO FEEBLE TO BE HEARD BY INDULGING PUBLIC.
    WE ARE HEADING TOWARDS AN IMPOSSIBLE SITUATION.
