Jiah Khan suicide: Sooraj Pancholi arrested

Mumbai, Jun 10 (IANS): Actor Aditya Pancholi's son Sooraj Pancholi, has been arrested by Mumbai police in connection with the suicide of actress Jiah Khan, an official said Monday.

Senior Police inspector Arun Bhagat of Juhu police station, where the case has been registered, told reporters: "Sooraj has been arrested under Section 306 of the IPC - abetment of suicide. He will be presented tomorrow at Andheri court."

"The IPC section pertains to abetment of suicide, and Sooraj Pancholi will be presented before a magistrate Tuesday morning," Bhagat told media.

The arrest came barely two days after Jiah Khan's family handed over a note penned by her to police. The note was recovered by the actress' kin three days after her suicide June 3.

    Initially I ignored the news thinking that it was one of those upper class society cases where it is difficult to conclude the truth. Although we do not the facts and based on the news when i read the suicide note, I felt terribly sorry for the girl. The culprit deserves maximum punishment if found guilty. He should not play with the life of any other girl in future.

    My heart goes out to Jia. The film faternity lack morals. Some take it serious and end their lives, others forget it and move on. Jia did not meet the right person. I think Jia should have consulted the senior actors like Kareena, Shilpa Shetty, Sridevi. These divas would have coached her on how to tag on to successful, ugly and rich married men having kids. At least their lives would be secure as they slip off from tinsel town.

    So sad to hear the story but the way Jiah Khan, acted on her life is very cruel. Because so loving parents she have and with so much love they brought her up and she give the gift of suicide to her Mother/Parents. Fine, she loved and she had been cheated but when she took the step to love the boy more then the limit, it means she is very brave. In the same way, she should have stood brave and teach this Boy the reality of the life and heart feelings, so that he will be the witness to the world and even innocent live like Jiah Khan. Now I do not think the boy will get good lesson as far as Money speaks, even our judicial system is so interesting, that's why these all things are happening and we are loosing the talented and beautiful young lives. God only can save all these. Anyway, lets pray that, her Soul Rest in Peace, Lord forgive Jiah Khan and give her eternal life.Amen

    When I first heard the news about her suicide, I was not at all interested to know the reality. Since it is well known fact that Film Personalities are spoiling their life because of money. But when I read about suicidal notes, I felt very bad since she loved Junior Pancholi like anything. She gave everything to this lad but in return she got death only. No one should dupe their Partner like this. I hope that Mumbai Police will now love to take stringent action against Sooraj Pancholi so that he will not play with the life of any other girl again
