Puttur, Jun 12: In an incident that was nothing short of a miracle, a man survived a 12-hour ordeal in a deep well, and came out alive.

The incident occurred at Kubalady in Noojibaltila near Kadaba in the taluk on Tuesday June 11.

Saji (40) from Kubalady was returning home at about 7 pm on Monday, when he accidentally slipped and fell into an open well located near the house of Y Joseph in Kubalady.

He went unnoticed for a long period. He stayed on in the deep water, braving rain and shouting for help, but no one seemed to hear him.

On Tuesday morning, a person passing by this path heard some voice from inside the well. He peeped inside, and found Saji struggling in cold climate and knee-deep water.

Another person named Guruvappa Kallugudde, who reached the spot sometime later, went into the well and lifted Saji with the help of a rope.

Saji was thereafter shifted to a hospital in Mangalore for treatment.

Some expressed the opinion that the survival of Saji after falling into the shallow water of such a deep well, as not less than a miracle.

Usha good poem but this is not the right time for this poem on this forum. Do you write poem when natural calamities like earthquake or flood occurs and you are one of the sufferers?? Nowadays it has become a trend to laugh and be happy when some one is suffering.

No wonder still some part of our native exists ground level well where people especially childrens easily would slip down...

Y Joseph since it is very close to your house beware of small children and arrange for barriers at least 3 feet high from ground leve so that future tradgedy could be contained.....Good luck

    Mr. Bollu
7 p.m. is dark enough in the village during monsoon. Use your common sense if you have some.

Because of heavy rain road, field and well are in the same level of water, so we have to take care in this situation. this is from ALLAH who can save any one.
