Sad indeed. The rainy floods, small and large, are very deceiving. They appear safe but are not - I have experienced myself several times during my growing up years. One should not play with the nature`s force at any cost. As Wasim and Cyril said, it is the rainy season and one has to (young and old) take extreme care when dealing with the water and the floods.

I totally do not understand why did this person tried to cross the river by foot when there is a foot bridge in place. Did he tried to make an adventure out of it, that too in a monsoon season?
