Mangalore, Aug 21: The sensational Panjimogeru double murder case, wherein a woman and her daughter were killed in their residence two years ago, and about which the police are still hunting for the culprits, has taken a new turn with the brother of the deceased woman pointing fingers at his brother-law and urging for high-level probe.

Razia and Zuha Fathima, residents of Panjimogeru, were murdered in broad daylight on June 28, 2011. More than two years after the incident, investigation into the case has bore no fruit despite several protests and appeals for CBI enquiry.

Reiterating that the case should be probed by the CBI, Razia's brother Haneef and mother spoke to reporters here on Tuesday August 20 and alleged that attempts are being made to frame him in the murder case while the real culprit continues to abscond.

"At the time of the murder, we were confident that the police would solve the case and bring the culprits to book soon. Three days after the murder, Razia's husband Hameed told the police that he suspected me. Police conducted enquiry based on his statement, but at that time I did not oppose it. However, police failed to solve the case. Locals organizations then began to protest urging for CBI probe, and I participated in each of these protests, but Hameed was never there and even put pressure on me not to protest," said Haneef.

"Despite all this, we have shown respect and kept our faith on Hameed to maintain a good relationship. CID police who had taken up the investigation repeatedly targetted us. I was questioned each and every time the investigating team arrived in Mangalore. More than 10 times I have been called to Bangalore and questioned for days together," he said.

"Hameed is using money and political influence to harass me. CID police have time and and again called me to Bangalore and questioned me in the presence of Hameed. Attempts are being made to frame me with false allegations. We are ready to extend all cooperation in solving the murder case. But we strongly oppose this kind of ill treatment," Haneef added.

"As the CID probe is being dictated by Hameed and because the police have failed to nab the culprits so far, we appeal to the government to order a CBI probe into the incident," he urged.

Razia's mother Nabisa, sister Rehana, Arif, Zulekha and others were present.

This incident had shooked Mangalore. And authorities have done nothing to catch the culprits.
They say, "Kaalthil kitna bi shatir kyu na ho zaroor ek na ek surag chodtha hai"

thus it clearly raises a doubt have the authorities really not got any clue? or it also seems some invisible hand is behind the murder.

Wish truth will triumph. Culprits be caught at the earliest....
