Mumbai, Oct 12: A delegation of Konkani Bhasha Mandal Maharashtra comprising of John D’Silva, president, Henry Lobo, chairman, Lawrence D’Souza-Kamani, general secretary, Vincent Mathias, founder chairman of Christian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Glenn Ebnett, noted Social Worker met Sanjay Nirupam, Member of Parliament, at his residence at  Beverly Hills, Lokhandwala, Andheri West and handed over charter of demands including a Konkani Academy an annual grant of Rs 10 lakhs and allotment of accommodation to house a Konkani training and Research Centre in Mumbai. 

John D’Silva explained in detail about the previous meetings they had with different leaders in Mumbai and the present status and also stressed upon the need to have an Cultural and Research Centre for the benefit of Konkani people living in around Mumbai.

Sanjay Nirupam was very receptive and promised to look into the matter.

We are confidnet that with the support of everyone,KBMM will be able to realise its dream of having place for its research and cultural centre.
