Bangkok: Thai Kannada Balaga celebrates Diwali, Rajyotsava

Bangkok, Nov 12: Thailand Kannada Balaga celebrated the Diwali and Karnataka Rajyotsava on Sunday November 10 at Novotel Lotus. Star performer Manjula Gururaj and playback singer Badari Prasad from Bangalore inaugurated the function by lighting Diwali lamps.

This year marked the 11th Diwali and Rajyotsava celebrations by the Balaga.

All the former presidents of Thai Kannada Balaga, Mukund Rao, Ravi, Mohandas Habib Saheb, Vinaya Rai, and Vincy Daniel Pinto were present for the event. President Muthuraj welcomed all with his inaugural speech.

Playback singer Manjula Gururaj and her son Sagar mesmerized the audience with old and new Kannada songs.

Badari Prasad entertained with his melodious voice by presenting Kannada and Hindi songs.

The young artiste Sagar created magic at the event with his new Kannada rock songs, while Larson and Margaret entertained with their jive dance for the rock music.
 
The visiting guests distributed prizes for the winners of various activities during the sports day held recently.
 
The Thai Kannada children presented mementoes and flowers to chief guest Manjula Gururaj, Sagar and Badari Prasad.

Suprabha Sathish shetty compered the programme, while Nagayya Matha concluded with a vote of thanks.
