Mangalore: Wish to see City Centre mall - 8-year-old boys walk from Ullal!

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore

Mangalore, Nov 17: In rather an amusing incident, two boys aged 8 years were found walking all the way from Ullal to Mangalore, simply because they wanted to see City Centre mall.

The boys left home without informing their parents. The duo were walking along Talapady K C Road when they were stopped by an auto driver who questioned them and later handed them over to their parents.

The boys are students of class III in an English medium school. They wanted to see City Center and hence left home at 5 pm on Saturday November 16, it is learnt.

Meanwhile, an auto driver identified as Nazir from Mastikatte in Ullal grew suspicious on seeing the little boys all on their own, and stopped and questioned them. They told him that they were walking to City Centre.

The boys had already walked a few kilometres by then. They were later handed over to their parents by the auto driver.

It is said that among the two boys, one had visited City Center earlier with his parents. He wanted to show the mall to his friend and hence they started their journey on foot, it is learnt.

The family members of the two boys were tensed as they had gone missing. They heaved a sigh of relief when the auto driver left them back home. Fortunately, thanks to the alert auto driver, the boys were found before they could get lost or run into trouble.

More amusingly, the innocent boys had left for City Centre with only Rs 3 in their pockets!

Thank you Nazir. May God bless you. Cannot imagine where these two kids would have found themselves. It is terrible even to even think. Great work.

Very touchy article. Innocent kids and that too one of the boy made a move to show city centre to his friend. That shows the bond between the two boys. Without having known what they were doing and with just Rs. 3/- in their pockets they made a move towards the city centre. That shows and proves their innocence.

Hats off to their courage and appreciate the efforts done by the auto driver who played a major role in getting the kids back home and handing over to their parents. He has to be suitably rewarded for this move of human gesture. With the ongoing human trafficking, if the kids had landed up into wrong hands, god alone knows what would their fate had been. Seems like parents have done some good deed and hence the kids return back safely. Auto driver is the real savior here.

Really brought tears into the eyes, the innocent thought of seeing the City Center and intimate love and friendship. Parents make it a point that you take them together to City Center and let them enjoy in the Kid Zone.

This reminds me it was in Niddodi once a small boy got down from a bus thinking his house has come but it was 3 K M away from his house and no one knows from which house this boy belongs, only he could say my house is near a Mango tree and it is road side so my younger brother who was in 9th standard took him in his bicycle searching his house and reached him to his house.

    Avani,

I think most of us have some such incident to narrate.

By the way, how many KM you ran? May be your house was situated not very far from Kateel. Just for my curiosity. That's it.

Nice to hear this story reminds me my childhood. Myself and my friend used to walk around 15 km to eat beef sukkah in a small restaurant because beef was totally banned in our house.
And 6 km in the midnight after watching the second show MGR picture.

Kids' mind. So sweet. They are so innocents that they cannot foresee any threats or risks in whatever they do. For them the whole world is sweet like them. O God! help in having at least 50% of a child's innocence. By the by salute to the auto driver. I remembered my childhood days when I traveled from my house to Kateel virtually running to see Kateel Jatre. The money mother gave as bus charge was saved to spend in the Jatre. But night when I slept in the temple, someone stole it from my pocket. I had to return next day back home too running. But I was not sad but happy to do that too. God! Whoever has done that forgive him & give him wealth in abundance.

A parent must be extremely cautious kids get excited...by our fast and false glittery approach of life.
They wish to be adult ASAP ...to enjoy! Proper guidance and vigil on them is the only way we can make them enjoy their childhood to the fullest!!
Hero auto driver must/would be a good parent!

This is called the height of curiosity.

We can say the Auto-driver came as a Good Samaritan to save these kids from some unforeseen dangers.

Now City Centre administration should consider giving some free hampers to these boys. They deserve it.

If I can recall my childhood days (may be 10-12 yrs.)in the company of some friends we went walking from Valencia to see the then under construction Vehicle Bridge at Ullal.
