Mangalore: ISA project expo at Mount Carmel School brings out young talents

Mangalore, Nov 22: A project exhibition organised by Mount Carmel School as part of the re-accreditation programme of International School Award by the British Council was inaugurated at the school premises here on November 22.
Mount Carmel Central School had won the International School Award by the British Council in the year 2010.
This award is valid for a period of three years where schools have to undertake a series of activities, projects, exhibitions, field trips related to global educational themes.
The inauguration was done by chief guest Vidya Bagalodi, philanthropist and Sarah from Germany. Joint secretary of the school Sr Ida Barboza, administrator Sr Carissima and principal Sr Melissa were also present during the stage programme.
As part of the re-accreditation process, the following projects were organised:
A family project for the first grade which included the students to bring in pictures of the family and creating a genetic tree; grandparents day etc. The second project for the second std was one of transport as a means of communication in different countries; with this project students learned better road safety regulations.
A project on food was organised for the third std students where they received information on food facts of four different countries. Visitors from some of these countries added more fun to the information.
A project for fourth standard students was on the topic of relationship between different countries and the bridges formed between them, Fr Austin from UK was the guest for this project.
Fifth grade students experienced a project on martial arts where they were taught an art for a healthier living.
Classes sixth to seventh were involved in a study of tribes from India UK USA and Africa as a part of the ISA project. Class eighth ninth and tenth were made to learn the importance of biodiversity and wildlife conservation.
