Mumbai: Billawar Association holds Decennial celebrations

Mumbai, Dec 2: The local office of suburban Malad of metro-based Billawar Association celebrated their decennial celebrations at Sri Sakalanarayana Sharma auditorium located at Datta Mandir Road, Malad (East) here on Sunday December 1.

Billawar Association honorary president and Bharat Bank chairman Jaya C.Suvarna inaugurated the programme here on Sunday evening. Borivali MLA Gopal C.Shetty was the chief guest of the occasion.

Hotel Krishna Palace Residency chairman Krishna Y Shetty, Shreya Life Science Private Limited deputy chairman Ashok M.Moodbidri, Kannada SanghMalad president Harish N. Shetty and others were guests of honor.

Shree Shani Mahatme puja Committee of Kurar village deputy chairman M.D.Billawa and Asha M.Billawa couple, government employee D.S.Karkera and Indira D.Karkera couple, local Committee convener Shankar D.Poojary were felicitated on the same occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Shetty said that Billawa community is known for communal harmony, where Jaya Suvarna is known to be reformer of Billawa community for being their able leader in empowering the community in every sphere, said MLA Shetty.  He also urged the community to be more engaged in social welfare activities in order to return the debt of society.

Jaya Suvarna said that the community and society likely to see progress if people join with clear conscience shunning prejudices for common good.  Meanwhile, five more local Committees will be formed shortly to strive for empowering the community in different neighbourhoods.

L.V.Amin said that the strength of the community is proven with opening local office in the suburbs.  It also proves that united efforts will contribute for key objectives of Billawar Association, said Amin. The dignitaries lauded the yeomen service of Billawar Association on the same occasion.

Jaya Suvarna inaugurated the local office of Billawar Association at basement floor of Brijavasi apartment, Daftary Road, Malad (East) to commemorate decennial celebrations. The local religious leader Narayan T.Kukyan and other dignitaries were present on the occasion. The Vedic celebrant M J Praveen Bhat performed Vastu puja, Ganahoma, Satyanarayana puja at the new premises.  The local Committee deputy chairman Krishna A Poojary and Jalajakshi K Poojary were present.

Billawar Association vice president Bhaskar M Salian, joint treasurer L R Anchan, Seva Dal commandant Ganesh K Poojary, office bearers of local Committees, convener Shankar D Poojary, honorary chairman Subash D Amin, deputy chairman advocate Somanat B Amin and Krishna A Poojary, honorary secretary Dinesh C Salian, honorary treasurer Narayan D Jattan, N D Kukyan and others were present on the occasion.

The variety cultural shows were staged by the members and their children.  Shankar H Poojary, Divya Poojary and Paviksha S Poojary compered the cultural programme. Pagarida Manchavu, Tulu play by playwright Tonse Vijayakumar Shetty was staged by the artistes of Kala Jagattu – Mumbai group as part of entertainment programme.

The local Committee chairman Santosh K Poojary welcomed the gathering.  The little children rendered the prayers.  The Association honorary chief secretary Jyoti K Suvarna delivered the introductory address, Jaya C Suvarna and L V Amin presented the flower bouquets to dignitaries.  Dhananjay S Kotian compered the programme.  The local Committee joint secretary Anil Poojary proposed vote of thanks.
